Capture, Catalog, and Communicate Orthopedic Insights
Integrated Mechanical Care (IMC) uses web-crawlers, indexing spiders, and human intelligence professionals to uncover, semantically label, and report on the implications of orthopedic discoveries—all with the goal of continuously improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Integrate and Act on the Evidence
With an unprecedented level of evidence to support the Company’s self-care, healthcare, and public health strategies, IMC delivers only evidence-based musculoskeletal care.
The Company’s evidence-base reflects the integration of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) research with clinical expertise and patient preferences.
- Evidence-based research findings are clinically relevant discoveries from STM disciplines and, especially, from patient-centric clinical research.
- Evidence-based clinical expertise refers to clinical insight, skills, and practices derived past experience and applied to determine a patient’s health status, clinical condition, psychosocial risks, behavioral challenges, values and expectations, and likely clinical prognosis vis-a-vis competing or complementary interventions.
- Evidence-based patient preferences are the unique values, concerns, and expectations that each patient brings to an orthopedic encounter and that must be integrated into MSD-related clinical decisions if these care strategies are to improve patient-reported outcomes.
IMC’s analytical research, program design, and clinical teams share their knowledge internally— and with select external subject matter experts (SMEs)—using intranet data discovery tools, intranet blogging technologies, and transdisciplinary grand rounds.
This enables the extended IMC team to apply the Company’s latest findings to the greatest effect.
